This is Appalachia, where the mountains are tough, and we train to match. Celebrating six years of developing leaders in the most challenging conditions One Shepherd has to offer, Bravo is famous for its cold-weather—giving rise to the company warning that “B means ‘Brrrr’".
The Cadre
The cadre at B co is quite diverse, from all walks of life – it’s a combination of former military and professionals. Our Commanding Officer, Mr. Bryce Dial, is a former Marine Corps Intelligence specialist known for his imposing, commanding presence and a sharp, analytical mind tailored for rapid battlefield problem-solving. He is supported by his XO, Mr. Kerry Coyne, an expert firearms instructor and former firefighter. Together, they lead a cadre of refined professionals with a combined experience of over 130 years in developing leaders in the civilian, law enforcement, and military sectors. Needless to say, this makes for a very unique combination of problem solving and tactical expertise.
The location
The Summit Bechtel Reserve in Glen Jean, WV has been in operation since 2007 and is known for its 10,000 acres of punishing hills and thick vegetation. The closest major airport is Yeager Airport in Charleston, WV (about 1 hour 15 minutes from Summit). Airports in Charlotte, NC and Pittsburgh, PA (3.5-4 hours) may also be an option. If you’re looking for challenging, varied terrain that’s not too far from civilization, and if you want to test your small unit leadership against brutal elevation and unforgiving elements, look no further than Bravo Company.
Welcome to Appalachia. Welcome to Bravo.
