Warrior Leader Program

WLP Uniforms

One Shepherd Regiment uniforms are steeped in tradition and function. All members are required to wear our uniforms in proper keeping with the regiment’s standard. Uniforms are a Warrior responsibility, meaning you purchase your own uniforms.

Two Uniforms are Required!

You need both OPFOR and BLUFOR uniforms. Insignia is not required for your first semester, but afterward, insignia is a uniform requirement.

Function: One Shepherd is a force-on-force training environment. This means that two teams engage each other. Warriors must identify their opponent in the midst of battle, and also identify their teammates. This is difficult under the best conditions. Now add smoke, dense vegetation, rain, snow, or nighttime conditions to the emotional and fast-moving battle simulation. The task of identifying friend or foe is incredibly demanding. After much experimentation, One Shepherd has determined that the Woodland and solid olive drab green uniforms are distinct and easily identified as friend or foe.

Tradition: One Shepherd is a martial institution comprised of citizen minutemen and military veterans. The minuteman is pragmatic about the act of battle, and he cares little for military traditions of uniformity or etiquette. This is a clever, flexible Warrior mindset. However in battle, a lack of espirit de corps all too often results in a lack of success for the minuteman. Whereas, the veteran surrenders his wellbeing to the success of his brothers in the regiment. Fidelity to a higher cause is the fiber of espirit de corps. This translates into battlefield victory. One Shepherd uniforms are an outward expression of our fidelity to the regiment and our espirit de corps.

Availability: One Shepherd is attempting to read the tea leaves of the uniform industry future. Many of our standard battle uniforms are no longer available. For this reason, our current standard is difficult to define. For the training years of 2025, 2026, and 2027, One Shepherd is grandfathering all ACU variants in OD green and Woodland (M81). However, to ensure a constant availability of battle uniforms, One Shepherd will use the “FTX Uniform Standard”.

FTX Uniform Standard

At One Shepherd FTX simulations, the uniform standard allows any cut or material of battle uniform in OD green and M81 Woodland camouflage patterns. The guidance set below for the BLUFOR and OPFOR uniforms will continue to be our preferred standard through 2027. However, this relaxed FTX Uniform Standard is extended to all One Shepherd training events with the intent of being more inclusive so that Warriors may attend and participate in One Shepherd training semesters.

BLUFOR Uniform

CUT: ACU or BDU Shirt, Pant, and Boonie Hat with nylon loops
CLOTH: “Ripstop” in 65/35 Poly-Cotton, or 60/40, or 50/50 Poly-Cotton blend
COLOR: M81 Woodland, 4-Color

Note: Other cuts of pant may be authorized. However, if wearing other cuts of pant, the color and cloth must be nearly indistinguishable from the uniform shirt.

OPFOR Uniform

CUT: ACU or BDU Shirt, Pant, and Boonie Hat with nylon loops
CLOTH: “Ripstop” in 65/35 Poly-Cotton, or 60/40, or 50/50 Poly-Cotton blend
COLOR: Olive Drab Green, Solid

Note: Other cuts of pant may be authorized. However, if wearing other cuts of pant, the color and cloth must be nearly indistinguishable from the uniform shirt.

Rain Parkas

Each warrior also needs two parkas or ponchos, one in each color pattern – Woodland and OD Green. These can be found affordably online in new or used condition.

Combat Boots

The same pair of combat boots is used for both uniforms. A boot is described as footwear that is high enough to cover the ball of the ankle. Lower than the ankle is inappropriate. Boots must be suede-out leather and medium brown in color (e.g. Coyote). The lighter sand colored boots must be dyed brown.

Popular brands and styles include:

• Altama Desert Boot
